Adult Individual Therapy

My approach to individual therapy for adults 18 and older combines psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral techniques. Together, we can explore problematic thoughts and behaviors as they relate to your past experiences. In doing so, we will work on repairing dysfunctional thought patterns to improve your quality of life in the present.

Challenges I treat include the following:

  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Boundary Setting
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Depression
  • Dual Diagnosis
  • Family Systems Issues
  • Grief
  • Major Life Changes
  • Prenatal and Postnatal Issues (including hormonal shifts, postpartum depression and anxiety, and miscarriage/infant loss)

  • Relationship Issues
  • Self-esteem
  • Suicidal thoughts and behaviors
  • Trauma and PTSD (including family of origin trauma, relational trauma, sexual trauma, and trauma related to a major event)
  • Young Adult Identity Development

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I provide an impartial perspective into challenges that may be impacting your relationship. Both members of the relationship will have equal weight in presenting their perspectives. I will often focus our work on improving communication, intimacy, and/or boundary setting. We may also explore how relationships were modeled in your prior experiences and how this may impact current functioning in the relationship.

Relationship challenges I treat include the following:

  • Boundary Setting
  • Commitment Challenges
  • Communication Issues
  • Financial Stress
  • Infidelity
  • Intimacy Issues
  • Parenting
  • Trauma
  • Trust Issues
